Mechelen Family Ride

Mountainbikeroute for everyone!

Super fun news! From now on, you can ride the Mechelen Family Ride from our property. This accessible mountain bike route is ideal for trying out mountain biking, but is also very suitable for the youth or to ride with the whole family. The new route opened on June 21, 2021 and we are very proud that our outdoor area is the starting point of the route.

The route has a length of 9.2 km and there are a few climbs, some nice descents and almost at the end of the route you can even ride through the water. This "mountain bike splash" is the perfect "mountain bike baptism". The whole route is signposted with easily recognizable signs.

The Mechelerhof is also Official Trailhub and has extensive cycling facilities. You can park for free at the large parking lot at the beginning of the park.

Initiative of the Mechelen Family Ride

Nice to mention is that this route is an initiative of one of the owners of the Mechelerhof, Gerben Bouma. As an avid mountain biker, he saw opportunities to create a route near Mechelen that would appeal to young people and parents with children. The existing routes in southern Limburg are due to the length and sometimes tough climbs and descents less suitable for younger mountain bikers and families. The Mechelen Family Ride makes mountain biking fun for everyone! Gerben Bouma hopes this route will make even more people enthusiastic about his beloved sport. The route is further picked up by the Foundation Mountain Bike Development South Limburg and the municipality of Gulpen-Wittem.
