Arrival & departure

What are the arrival times?

Arrival times are from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. If you wish to arrive earlier you can book an early check-in based on availability. If you expect to arrive later than 5:00 pm, please contact the front desk. We can then prepare the key to your holiday home in a safe deposit box for you. Reception can be reached at 0031 (0)43 – 455 22 22 or by email info@mechelerhof.nl.

Is a deposit required on arrival?

A deposit of €150 may be requested on arrival. In this case we ask you to pay this deposit via pin or cash at the reception. When the house is left properly, the (remaining) amount will be refunded to your account within 3 weeks. Buitenplaats De Mechelerhof assumes that you leave your holiday home tidy after your stay. Please report any unexpected damage or broken items to the reception desk.

What are the departure times?

On the day of departure you should leave your holiday home by 10:00 am at the latest and return the key to reception. Would you like to stay a little longer or leave at the end of the day? Ask at the reception for the possibilities of a late check-out (departure before 12:00 o'clock) or a Lazy (Sun)day (departure before 17:00 o'clock).

How should I leave the accommodation upon departure?

You must leave your holiday rental broom clean, take out the garbage, do the dishes, take down beds and put the bedding down in the hall, clear out the refrigerator, turn it off and leave it open and put the (garden) furniture back in its proper place.

At the holiday park

Is a crib, high chair or playpen provided as standard?

Children's furniture is not provided as standard in your holiday home. You can book a crib including bed linen or a high chair. If you wish to use a stair gate, it is possible to collect one on loan from reception.

Are non-smoking accommodations available?

All of our accommodations are smoke-free.

Is it possible to park at the holiday home?

Buitenplaats de Mecherhof is a car-free park. Upon arrival and departure, you can park your car at the farmhouse to load or unload your luggage. At each farmhouse there are luggage carts that you can use to bring your luggage to the house. Then you can park your car in the central parking lot. For disabled guests, there is a possibility to park near the holiday home. You should ask for a special parking card at the reception. All other vehicles should be parked in the central parking lot.

Is there a launderette at the park?

During your stay at Buitenplaats De Mechelerhof you can use the launderette daily from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. You will find the laundromat, when standing in front of the reception desk, on the left side right next to the reception desk. There is both a washing and drying machine available. Tokens for the machines can be purchased at the reception. Washing powder is waiting for you at the washing machine.

Are there holiday homes suitable for disabled people?

There are no holiday homes specifically equipped for the disabled. However, there are several holiday homes with only a first floor. You can select these while booking (choose ground floor). Please ask our reception for the possibilities. We gladly provide customization to make your stay more pleasant.

Is Buitenplaats de Mechelerhof a wheelchair accessible holiday park in the Netherlands?

The terrain of our holiday park itself is hilly, as we know South Limburg. The facilities and amenities on the park are wheelchair accessible. The ground-level holiday homes are the best choice for wheelchair users, however, there are no specific adjustments in the homes. It is always wise to contact the holiday park in advance to ask specific questions about accessibility and any special needs.

I would like to receive visitors during my stay, is that possible?

Your visitors are very welcome at Buitenplaats de Mechelerhof. If your guests are staying overnight, please sign them in before the reception desk closes. Your guests will pay government taxes and the bed linen package.

Is there a Nespresso or regular coffee maker available?

You will make your cup of coffee with a regular coffee maker. Think of your coffee filter bags. These are of course also for sale at the reception. The premium holiday homes are additionally equipped with a Nespresso or Lavazza machine. The cups for this are available at reception.

Is there an internet connection available at the park?

There is a wifi connection available for park guests. This is free to use, but not always suitable for uploading and downloading very large files, movies or large photos when there are many guests on our vacation park. Please try to take this into account so we can all enjoy a good connection.

Is there a dishwasher and/or microwave in the holiday homes?

All holiday homes have both a dishwasher and a microwave oven. You will receive 2 dishwasher tablets upon arrival in your vacation home.

Is Buitenplaats de Mechelerhof a fireworks-free holiday park?

Buitenplaats de Mechelerhof is a holiday park known for its peaceful and natural environment. No fireworks are allowed on the park at the turn of the year. It is possible that fireworks are set off in the vicinity and that this can be heard at the park.

Is Buitenplaats de Mechelerhof a smoke-free holiday park?

At De Mechelerhof you can celebrate your vacation with the charm of the square farmhouses in Limburg. Our vacation homes are linked and situated around a cozy courtyard, each with its own terrace and a shared garden. To ensure that all our guests, from young to old, can fully enjoy the outdoors, we kindly ask you not to smoke in the area around the vacation homes. For the smokers among us, there are plenty of places in the park where you can smoke without disturbing other guests. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

Reservation & payment

Can I book with a preference for a particular holiday home?

In the booking process you can choose your own holiday home number via the park map. For this you have to pay a € 25,00 preference fee. Buitenplaats de Mechelerhof reserves the right to offer a similar accommodation if a serious malfunction or calamity occurs which results in the unavailability of the desired holiday home. Of course in such a case the preference costs will be refunded.

Is it possible to take an option on a reservation?

It is possible to take an option on a reservation. The period of option depends on the arrival date and is maximum 7 days. We ask you to confirm or cancel the option within the agreed period or within a maximum of 7 days. After 7 days, your option is automatically converted into a final booking. For last minute bookings, i.e. 14 days before an arrival date, option bookings are not possible.

Can I manage my booking myself?

In your booking confirmation you will receive a link to mijn.mechelerhof.nl. Here you can view your booking, make your payments and, for example, add items or change the number of people.

When do I have to pay the invoice?

A 50% deposit is due 2 weeks after booking. The remaining 50% is due 4 weeks before arrival by bank transfer. If you have booked within 2 weeks before arrival, you must pay the reservation amount at once. In your booking confirmation you will find a payment link.

What should I mention when paying?

In your booking confirmation there is a payment link, the easiest way is to use this link. When you transfer the amount due to us by bank transfer, please mention the reference that is mentioned in the booking confirmation. You will find this reference under the payment link.

Will I receive a receipt?

You will receive an email confirmation when we have received your payment. When you pay via the payment link in the reservation confirmation you will receive this email within an hour. If you pay via bank transfer you will receive the payment confirmation within 2 business days.

I have not received a confirmation yet, what should I do?

If you have not received a confirmation e-mail within 24 hours of making an online booking, we kindly ask you to notify us by telephone or e-mail. We will then take care of sending your confirmation. Please check your SPAM-box just to be sure. Occasionally e-mail programs put a confirmation in SPAM.

If you booked by telephone and did not receive a confirmation by e-mail or post after booking, we kindly ask you to inform us by telephone or e-mail. We will then take care of sending your confirmation.

How can I cancel my reservation?

If you booked directly through Buitenplaats de Mechelerhof (online, by phone or by e-mail) you can only cancel in writing. You can do this for example via our contact page. Always mention the booking number.

In case of cancellation you pay a compensation to Buitenplaats de Mechelerhof. This fee amounts to:

  • In case of cancellation more than three months before the start date, 15% of the agreed price;
  • If you cancel within three to two months before the starting date, 50% of the agreed price;
  • For cancellation within two to one month before the commencement date, 75% of the agreed price;
  • If cancelled within one month before the commencement date, 90% of the agreed price;
  • In case of cancellation on the day of the starting date, 100 % of the agreed price.

For the cancellation conditions we also refer to the general terms and conditions. If you have booked through an external booking channel or travel agency, you must cancel your stay there.

Can I change my vacation after booking?

You can change your booking up to 28 days before your arrival date. In that case, another accommodation must be available, the new period of stay must be in the same year and the rental price of your booking must remain the same or increase. If the modified booking becomes more expensive, you will pay the difference.

Pets

Are pets allowed in the holiday homes?

In the surroundings of Buitenplaats de Mechelerhof you can walk your dog. Therefore we understand if you want to take your pet with you on vacation in South Limburg. In a number of holiday homes pets are allowed. The other houses are pet-free. The costs are € 7,- per pet per night. If a pet is brought along, there is also a cleaning surcharge of € 14,- per accommodation.

Are there also pet-free holiday homes?

Yes, we also have pet-free holiday homes at Buitenplaats de Mechelerhof. While booking you can easily make a selection based on the characteristic 'pet free'. If no results appear, it means that there are no pet-free accommodations available. It is best to contact the reception by phone.

How many dogs can I bring to Buitenplaats de Mechelerhof?

In the holiday homes at Buitenplaats de Mechelerhof where pets are allowed, you can bring a maximum of 2 dogs.

Is South Limburg a nice destination for a vacation with my dog?

Of course, South Limburg is a great destination for a vacation with dogs. The varied landscape and the many hiking trails ensure that dogs can have a great time.
